Mum's the Word is an exciting new social network for Tunbridge Wells Mamas run by sisters’ Natalie Mcilveen and Laura Swann. Natalie and Laura (born and bred in Tunbridge Wells) are both Mums on a mission! Natalie is Mum to Ted (3) and Ray (6 months) and Laura is Mum to Noah (7) and Florrie (4). But the sisters’ also just happen to have over 25 years of experience (between them) working in the PR and Events world.
Natalie: ‘Having recently moved from South East London back to the mighty RTW, I felt like there was nothing locally that provided a real sense of ‘mum’ community. I was looking for an opportunity to learn something new, meet fellow mama's, be inspired, boost my confidence and most importantly HAVE FUN. So we decided to create it!
Laura: ‘Whether you’re a working mum, stay-at-home mum, aspiring mum blogger, a mum with kids at school, on maternity leave and wondering what to do next or even an expectant mum, – we’ll have a daytime meet-up that’s just right for you (with or without your kiddies in tow, everyone’s welcome!)
SEE UPCOMING EVENTS
As well as Mum’s the Word meet-ups, Natalie and Laura will also be running a series of fun family events.
Natalie: ‘Apart from the usual soft play and park action, we wanted something different to do at the weekends – something that all the family could enjoy together (including Mum & Dad!!!). That’s when we came up with the idea for #Wild_Child!
#Wild_Child is a family dance party (more Ella’s Kitchen than God’s Kitchen) with a top London DJ mixing party classics and retro tunes, all at a child- friendly volume, so the whole family can PARTY together

Laura: ‘In the same way that our parents introduced us to the Beatles and Motown, #Wild_Child is a great way to introduce our children to the classic house anthems of 90s and early OOs – whilst all having fun in a safe, family-friendly venue.’
Over to you...
We’d love to hear from Tunbridge Wells’ Mamas – who do you want to hear speak, what things do you find challenging, need advice on? What type of events would you love to come along to?
Or perhaps you cleverly combine children with running your own business – could you help inspire other mums to do the same by speakng at a Mum’s the Word meet-up?
Please get in touch – we all know sharing is caring!’
