Trampolining really does seem to be the IN thing at the moment! John Lewis has even created an entire Christmas advert around animals jumping on a trampoline, so when we were invited along to the new Jump In Park in Tonbridge we couldn’t wait to jump on this trend (sorry!). What’s better than a morning of trampolining to wear out 3 children under 7!!!
After signing a waiver (top tip – do this online before you go and save yourself time) and watching a safety video, which 4 year old Ted found hilariously funny (we’re not sure it’s meant to be!!) we donned our bright green Jump In socks (which you get to keep - cue much excitement from the kids) and hit the trampolines.
Natalie and I had decided simply to accompany the kids and not to go on the trampolines (we have both had two children if you get our drift) but swiftly changed our minds as the urge to run and jump proved just too much! It really is GOOD FUN! There are upwards of 100 trampolines that you can bounce between and up the walls – which the kids pretended was THE WALL in Ninja Warriors!
The fun doesn’t stop there either as there were battle beams (like in Gladiators… for those of a certain age) foam pits, giant air bags, a twist ladder and dodge ball arena. There is also a separate toddler area out of the way of the big boys and girls meaning that little ones can have a bounce safely and great if you are trying to entertain children of different ages!
There’s also a café for caffeine refueling after all that exercise (why is jumping so much harder now you’re an adult?) and a HUGE polar krush machine aka slush puppies if you were born in the 70s/80s!!!
As of this Monday 14th November, Jump In Tonbridge will start running Toddler Time (Monday – Friday 10-12 noon) which sounds like a fun morning out with your little ones and a bit different too. Or if you have teenage kids, they have a regular teen disco night that involves free polar krush and strictly no adults!!! Plus for those with a good pelvic floor they are launching Insanity fitness on the trampolines in early December – which is (totally) insane!
So what can we say other than if you’re looking for a fun activity for all the family – we cannot recommend it enough - although we cannot guarantee that you will see any jumping foxes, badgers or boxer dogs!
To celebrate the launch of Jump In Tonbridge we are giving away a Family Golden Ticket (four free jumps). To enter simply like Mum’s the Word facebook page and Jump In Tonbridge page and post ‘Jump In’ below and we will pick one winner at random on Sunday 13th November at 8pm. Good luck Mamas and keep on jumping!
